Rainy Day | Inspiration

Hi there... Rona here sharing a simple two-pager. I know that there are all sorts of scrapbookers out there. Some love LOTS of embellishments, and some like a more simple look. I vacillate between the two, depending on my mood. Today I decided to make the layout more about the story and photos, so I went with fewer, but more impactful, embellishments.

There's a pizza ad here in Canada that always started with "It was a rainy day.." in a fake accent. That's the voice in my head reading this layout title. I combined two colours of the Evalicious puffy letters (faux cork and black) for the title. Look how great that faux cork looks!  These alphas are a great size for longer titles or subtitles, and the fact that they're puffy stickers and not chipboard means that they don't have the issue of layers peeling off.

This is a simple cluster, with a plain cardstock circle inset over a This Way Round Sticker, then a puffy sticker from the This Way Puffy Stickers V3 set. (Up close, you can see my cheat since this decorative strip was cut from a 6x6 paper pad.)

And I found the perfect raindrops to finish off my page. :)  Several of the collections have puffy heart stickers. Cut them in half, turn them upside down, and voila.

Ok, enough of the rain... here's hoping for some sunny weather!

  1. Rona - Love the blue paper and that red umbrella just pops right off the page. Very nice layout.

  2. Rona, I love that you made the photos the focal point. I know that I love using the piles of embellishments that I own, but it is nice to step back and just make it about the pictures.

  3. It is GORGEOUS!! I love the puffy letter stickers, and how brilliant to turn the hearts into raindrops - I wouldn't have thought of that! I know you said it's simple, but this is one of my favorites!
