Laura here today, sharing a new project documenting a photo of my youngest climbing trees in our yard. This kid gets so much "happy" from the little things in life, definitely a lesson I should remember more often myself. Plus he is very accommodating about letting me snap photos while he plays!
I started my page, by just simply swiping on some water colour paint, onto a piece of textured cardstock. My goal was just to add a layer of a couple of colours as a base for my layers to come.
Once that was dry, with a little help from my heat gun, I added a layer of "pumice stone" grey distress ink with a wood grain mask. I love that shade of grey, it is so warm.
Then I began adding some layers of papers in greens and blues, scraps from two older (okay one is really old) My Mind's Eye lines. Next I added my photo.
Because I love it so much, the "Field Notes" flair (badge buttons) came next!
Then the "Field Notes" labels and page tabs, I love these for journaling snippets and adding the date to my pages.
The wood accents and puffy stickers came next.
This is the point where I felt I needed some texture and a darker colour to help ground things so I added some random stitching.
I sort of thought I was done and went to do something else, then I glanced at my page and realized that I had omitted a title, duh! I fixed that up super quick with these super awesome puffy alphas in a wood grained look.
And lastly, I stamped and embossed the phrase "LIFE DOCUMENTED" onto the upper left portion of my page, and stamped the camera onto a scrap piece of paper, heat embossed that, added some water colours and fussy cut it out to adorn my page.
