ok figured things out

not really. I just called my brother LOL and he fixed it but he thinks i'm the biggest idiot ever when it comes to computers.

Because life's been a little busy and will be for the rest of December, I won't force myself to make an entry every day. I took this approach last year too. If I force myself to make an entry, I'll end up hating the process. And I really want to make this a tradition for myself--to do a December journal every year. So instead, I keep notes on each day's happening (lower right corner of photo--my post-its) and I take photos. I refer back to the photos that i've uploaded into my computer for the dates (because there'll be A LOT of photos). I do this by hovering my cursor over the photo i'm interested in. Before I started, I pulled aside some scrap ledger papers that I have left over from putting together the Christmas Art Journals. I plan on using the scraps for my journal and for stamping the date label on.

For the first page (on the inside of the front cover), I thought it'd be neat to use a photo of our place from last year because I was going to have a new photo as my first entry also--an introduction to the 2008 journal. It snowed last year on Dec 1--it's just very cold this Dec 1st. For the photo on the right, I punched the holes using my Office Depot 2hole punch and added the photo directly into the book. I journaled onto the photo using my fave pens--the Sakura Microperm. It dries super fast on nonporous surfaces like photos. I'm loving this simplicity of the journal already! Simple yet slightly artsy with very little work.

December 1st Entry: I added another vertical photo by punching the holes and added the re-enforcer stickers (from Scenic Route sticker sheet that came with the Christmas Art Journal) then slipping it inside the rings. I made the little date stamp (stamped in red) on vistaprint.com. I actually used a Stazon pad to stamp it on the back of the previous photo but because the pad was new/fresh, it bled a little. Oh well. The little black label sticker is leftovers from the Sew Grateful journal project.

Dec 2nd: This is a pretty simple one. I used Terrifically Tacky Tape to adhere my photo onto the felt page to make sure that it sticks well.

This is where I used my scrap ledger paper--as journaling strips. The little sticker that's in the middle of the Prima flower is the re-enforcer center on the SR sticker sheet. That's all my entries for now. Gotta get more photos printed.

Here's some inspo from my Christmas journal last year. It's pretty darn neat to compare the days of last year to this year.

Have a great weekend! xo, eve

Hi Eve, I've received my kit and I just love it. It is so pretty that I can't stop admiring the pages and am almost too scared to use it in case I make a mistake. But as Ali says in her book nobody who sees it is going to care, they are just going to be caught up in the fact that the effort was made, so here I go, I'll let you see the finished product, thanks for inspiring me to do this in the first place, warmest regards, Tiffiny.
